Socially Distant Cruising – By Theresa

Below is a video of our last year’s Thanksgiving and Christmas Cruises. We are very much looking forward to this year’s Thanksgiving and Christmas cruises. Being out on the water is an excellent way to stay socially distant and safe while enjoying time with the family. #Gratitude.

Wishing everyone safe and enjoyable holidays!

Thank you for your wishes. It has been a long time since I have seen the boys, and I can’t get over how they have grown up! Enjoy your holiday cruising. Being on the water with your family is about as safe as it can get these days. I am sooooo looking forward to a NORMAL life again, whenever that will be. Stay safe, stay healthy, and have a Happy Thanksgiving! Dietlind

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all of you. So glad to see you continue to cruise aboard Pilots Discretion! We still have WINGS IV berthed at Halifax Harbor Marina-we need the floating docks for safe boarding now that Frank is 91. Spending several nights a week has helped us through these troubling times.

    Please continue your amazing posts!

Great to hear from you–I hope all is well. As you know we cruise the San Juan Islands and up into Canada every year. COVID closed down cruising in Washington and closed the border to Canada so we weren’t able to let “Knot Flyin” loose to where she needed to be. Fair winds and calm seas to you

We are well Todd, keeping our heads down and hoping 2021 will bring a return to normalcy. “Knot Flyin” will hopefully get a better chance to stretch her legs soon🛥👍

Happy New Year to all of you ❤️ Your Christmas trip onboard looked fabulous. We are so happy to share your adventures.
We are onboard WINGS IV several days a week but no more cruising. This year put a stop for us but we love our floating condo now that Frank approaches 92. Did our bucket list of destinations with good memories. The boat keeps Frank share in any event 😊😊😊.
Best wishes to many more cruises for all of you ❤️❤️❤️❤️

So Glad you and Frank continue to enjoy Wings IV. Just being on board is different world non cruisers will never understand. Happy New Year to both of you Anette.

Annette, I was just speaking with another cruiser who owns his own jet, has multiple properties all over the country and still marvels that he would rather spend his time in the few hundred square feet that make up his yacht than be anywhere else. Only those of us that have been seduced by the sea can understand this. As I am writing this, I am not at my home but rather aboard Pilot’s Discretion. She has been the lens that has truly allowed my family to view life in a way that will always be exhilarating and not routine. Only another mariner can understand this. I am so grateful that you and Frank introduced me to this lifestyle. Please thank Frank personally for me👨‍✈️🛥👍

You are so right, Randy! We are extremely happy you and your family experienced such amazing cruising and continue to enjoy Pilot’s Discretion. We miss getting off the dock but enjoy the wonderful memories. When Frank was at the helm, he looked twenty years younger, was in his true element as he was when flying. We still miss it all, are truly grateful we cruised to most places on our bucket list, and feel we made the right decision to stay safe in both cases.
There are so many times we think of you and would like to talk about our almost sister ships. Our original plan as to keep WINGS IV for five years, but every five years, we add another five-LOL. She will be fifteen yo in June, and I think Pilot’s Discretion is a year older. But, it is really fun to keep WING IV looking new, minus a new navigation panel.
Oh yes, still go to the Omelet House, but not since COVID! Cannot wait to return for their great breakfasts. Dan is the owner.
It would be great to talk sometime. Frank says, “Hi and ahoy!”

Great to hear from you–As you know, we cruise the San Juan Islands every year then up into Canada to the Broughtons and much in between. COVID restrictions shut down the State of Washington and the Canadian border so we didn’t get to take “Knot Flyin’ out where she belongs. Hope to get there next season. “Land was created to provide a place for boats to visit”
